Things Are NOT Always What They Seem

Some trash companies are out there just to take advantage of and screw people.

Our latest client in Frederick, MD called us because he had gone out and bought three "Bagsters". - Bagsters are mini plastic dumpsters offer by Waste Management (the big national trash company). They claim that all you have to do is get these bags, YOU fill them up with your junk, trash, whatever, then you call Waste Management and they'll pick the bags up.

Well, this is exactly what our client did, except that when he called to have the bags picked up, they wanted to charge him almost TRIPLE what we ended up charging him. (and he did all the work filling the bags with trash.. AND he paid for the bags)

We told him that if he had called us from the start, we would have gone in the house and we would have removed all the junk and trash ourselves, and that he wouldn't have had to lift a finger. Not to mention, he wouldn't have had to buy those expensive bags either.

Needless to say he was VERY happy with our service and more than fair price.

Guess Yard Waste is a Year-Round Thing...

This morning we picked up a 36" CRT tv in perfect condition from Middletown, MD. Unfortunately nobody wants them anymore, not even the Goodwills, so we had to recycle it. - what a shame.

Then we got a call to haul away some yard debris from a residence in Ijamsville, MD.

Thank you Robert Scott and Neal Price for your business.

Pain In The A** -- Solved!

So, this question has been on the back of my mind for a while now. "What if I get a flat tire?"

Well it turns out that getting the spare tire out from under the Chevy Silverado truck is a huge pain in the a** and it could take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour providing you have the right tools and you're not stuck on a soft surface like dirt or gravel.

So...last week I had to take the truck into my mechanic for repairs. While there, I asked him to remove the spare tire, remove the entire freaking assembly and just throw the tire in the bed of the truck.

When I came home I realized that I need the space the tire was taking up for my normal junk hauling job. So I went to Home Depot, got me some chain and VOILA! - tire is now easily accessible and out of the way :-)

BTW, check out these videos of how much of a pain getting the spare tire is.

10 Decluttering Tips For Boomers

10 Decluttering Tips For Boomers

A common household complaint from boomers is that they just have too much stuff. Stuff that the kids left behind when they moved out: The clothes, toys, school memorabilia, baseball cards that their children couldn’t quite part with, but didn’t have room for in their starter apartments. Stuff that their parents left them: The furniture, the dishes, the family heirlooms that are crammed into spare rooms and taking up valuable space in living rooms.
